Been a loooong time since I did anything 3D, so at the advice of the ever talented and wise , I decided to try out a small, relatively simple scene just to try and get back into things. Despite it not being anything apt to shake the foundation of art as we know it, I liked the piece enough and was just happy to have created again for the first time in months, so here it is.
Tech Specs:
Rendered in 3D Studio Max 2009; time taken, about an hour. All textures of my own making in Photoshop CS3
looks nice Aco, but those planks the barrels are made of are kinda strange <_< probably because the area to texture in the middle is a bit bigger then those at the top and the butom. Crates look perfect
To be honest, texturing is something I'm horribly lazy with XD. I just end up re-using old textures and trying my best to make them suit new renders. Terrible habit that I need to break, and this piece is a good example of that. Patience has never been a virtue of mine, though; if I could master patience, I might actually get better at this 3D stuff XD.
Btw, dude, did you get the Note I sent you via dA? Hope so

To help inspire you this month, #project-improve and #ProjectComment have joined creative and collaborative forces to bring you 'An Image Is Worth A Thousand Words' Contest.
The theme of this contest is pretty much as the title states; we would like you to draw on inspiration for a piece of literature that coincides with an image of your choice. The extent of the involvement of the image is entirely up to you.
Both visual artists and writers can take part, so please read the article to find out more!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A city is a place where there is no need to wait for next week to get the answer to a question, to taste the food of any country, to find new voices to listen to and familiar ones to listen to again.
